British Railway C;ass Q1 No.33010. SR Bulleid Pacific 4-6-2 No.35028 Clan Line. The premier express passenger class of the Southern Railway. Originally built with air smoothed casing, later removed. Preserved locomotive show here at Sheldon. - Printed by E T W Dennis and Spns Limited, Scarborough
GWR 0-4-2T at Buckfastleigh, Auto Tank 48XX Class. Were used on local and branch line service. In spite of their small size they were very capable of speeds of over 60mph. Ivan LMS Class 2MT 2-6-0 No.6441. Was built at Crewe in 1951 and worked the Lancaster area all its life, was frequently on the Windermere Cruise trains from Morecambe, they had a maximum speed of 75mph. Jubilee Class 4-6-0 No.5596 Bahamas. Built for the LMS in 1935. Purchased for preservation in August 1967 by the Bahamas Preservation Society and restored to LMS livery and working order. LNER 2-6-2 Class V2 No.4771 Green Arrow. Passenger and freight loco introduced in 1936. They were put through ecensive trials, both passenger and freight. This particular engine was to be seen with the 3.55pm Scottish Goods from London, a very heavy train indeed. BR (North Eastern) Class J72 0-6-0 Side Tanl No.69023 Joem. A development of Worsdells E1 Class of 1898. Was built at Darlington in 1951. It served as Departmental Loco No.59 and spent much time thawing points in the Newcastle area. Bulleid Q1 0-6-0 at Feltham. Introduce by the SR in 1942 to cope with wartime freight traffic. Bulleid built 40 of these ugly but distinctive engines. No.33004 rumbles past Feltham engine shed on 3rd October 1964. - Photograph by Robert Adley, Printed by J Arthur Dixon
Urie S15 4-6-0 at Eastleigh. These robust locomotives were built by the LSWR between 1920-1. They rarely made headline news, but were amongst the last pre-grouping engines at work on British Rail. Ex SR Battle of Britain Class 222Squadron. This train is made up of two power cars and seven passenger coaches and has a maximum service speed of 125mph.
