Class O2 0-4-4T No.18 Ningwood stands at Shanklin Station on the 3rd August 1964 with a train from Ryde Pierced. The last steam train on the Ryde to Ventnor line ran on the 31st December 1966. - Published by Vectis Publications
Originally LBSCR No. 40 Brighton, this locomotive was sold to the Isle of Wight Central Railway in 1902 and subsequently passed to the Southern Railway who named her Newport. After withdrawal by BR in 1963, the locomotive was acquired by Butluns Ltd and displayed at their Pwllheli Camp. Here are three Post Cards of the Terrier Newington outside the Hayling Billy Public House on Hayling Island. On the 29th June 1979 she returned to the Isle of Wight and was given her IOW number and name No. 8 Freshwater. - published by A Salmon
